Apparently the announcement was made this evening, Ramadan has begun.
So I will set an alarm for 3am for my predawn meal. Got my dates and figs ready, I'll have a piece of Arabic bread as well. My colleague hasn't forwarded to me a website to determine sunrise and sunset times so I guess I'll look it up on my own, and ask my colleagues tomorrow at work.
Let's see how this goes...
It's kinda interesting that with less than 10 minutes between sunset and the setting of the moon, that it was possible in Qatar to sight the crescent moon.
ReplyDeleteI think these were the same people when, three years ago, asked why they started Ramadan a day early so that it coincided on a Friday (like Saudi Arabia did) and they said they must've cited Mars by mistake. (?!?) I'll see if I can find the article.
