Guess it has been a while since I updated. I am still alive – honest!
The ups of downs of current life . . .
Down: hands got worse after coming back from vacation, but I have an MRI scheduled and I’m being more disciplined, such as wearing a wrist brace at work even if I’m feeling fine. It has helped and my hands are improving. Plans are to keep the brace on at work for at least 6 months, if only to keep reminding me to minimize unnecessary typing. Have speech recognition software on order as well.
Up: finished my Hep A & B vaccinations
Down: no travel plans until the summer
Up: but when I do go, it looks like great trips ahead. Possibilities are Turkey, Slovakia, Yemen. Maybe Italy or the Riviera? Egypt?
Up: McEwan’s Export ale, I tried it and liked it.
Down: McEwan’s Scotch Ale – gross stuff. Some Scots tried it and realized it was “sweetheart stout”, back in the day they used to give it to women in maternity wards. Don’t know how much of that is true but it certainly was not a good stout by my standards.
Up: pretty active socially: Natural History Group, then drinks at the Rugby Club next evening, followed next night by the Moto GP, followed the next night with comedy night at the Ramada and so on.
Down: Summer is approaching and a lot of activities will cease, gotta enjoy the cooler temperatures while I can.
Later.
In 2006 I moved to Qatar and things are not what many people in North America would expect - it is not like how the Middle East is portrayed in the media. I'm also a fan of skepticism and science so wondered how this works here in Qatar. Since I'm here for a while I figured I'd use the time to get to know this country better and with this blog you can learn along with me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So what posts have been popular recently . . .
