There'll be a Tim Hortons in Gulf Mall! I then went to the side where some work orders were posted for further proof.
When I went to the Tims in Ezdan Mall I mentioned the new location and the guy at the counter said, "hopefully it'll be open in a week." Ummmmm no, sorry, that's not happening my man. It has a long way to go, won't be open anytime soon. (I took a picture through a hole in the door.) [September 4th update -- wow, was I wrong, Tims is open now]
In other news I noticed a new cafe in the mall that just opened up.
So new cafe at the mall, Tim Hortons opening September 4th, and IHOP I'm guessing sometime within the next few weeks.

Thank you for your posts, I'm planning a trip to Qatar int he next few months and yor guide gives me a good view on what is available... I hear that Outback Steak house was going to open there,is that true?
Any other places to go near Doha? I'm going to be there for just a few days so I'm more interested in good landmarks and also some typical food.

Hello. There is an Outback Steak House in Doha, at Lagoona Mall near the Pearl.

Although I'm looking for regional or local food, I like to try some american restaurants around the globe, for comparison.

No problem Jose, there's plenty of American restaurants in Doha: Shake Shack, P.F. Chang's Applebees, T.G.I.F and Macaroni Grill are all at Villagio food court (for example) and places like Chili's, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Burger King, Hardee's, Starbucks, etc can be found all over the place.
Too bad IHOP still not opened .. can't wait
