In 2006 I moved to Qatar and things are not what many people in North America would expect - it is not like how the Middle East is portrayed in the media. I'm also a fan of skepticism and science so wondered how this works here in Qatar. Since I'm here for a while I figured I'd use the time to get to know this country better and with this blog you can learn along with me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So what posts have been popular recently . . .

Update on Beirut Restaurant in Souq Waqif
Tonight I was at Beirut Restaurant in Bin Mahmoud so I asked the guy at the counter what happened to the one in Souq Waqif. He said it was “closed for good” but he didn't know why.
So after almost 50 years it's gone. So much for my hope that it was just closed for renovations.

I don't recall the exact locations but there one in Al-Rayyan.
Yeah someone told me there was one in Rayyan/Gharrafa, but I'm also not sure where, I think somewhere on the street behind the Lulu and Ezdan Mall. There's also one in Bin Mahmoud but I liked the original one in the Souq.
